Drug Uses

How Taken
Soma comes in tablets to take by mouth. The general dosage for adults is one tablet (350mg) 3 times a day and at bedtime. To avoid possible upset stomach take Soma with a meal or with a glass of milk. Soma is not recommended for treatment of children under 12 years old.

Warnings/Precautions
You may require a lower dose or special monitoring or you might not be able to take Soma if you have acute intermittent porphyria, kidney or liver disease. You it is unknown if Soma is safe to take during pregnancy or whether it passes into breast milk, therefore do not take Soma if you are pregnant, likely to become pregnant or breastfeeding unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, take as soon as you remembered if it is within 1 hour. If you do not remember until later, skip the Missed Dose and continue your usual dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Possible Side Effects
Some of the Possible Side Effects are- dizziness, vertigo, ataxia, tremor, agitation, irritability, headache, depressive reactions, syncope, and insomnia. Allergic or idiosyncratic reactions, skin rash, erythema multiforme, pruritus, eosinophilia, and fixed drug eruption with cross reaction to meprobamate, asthmatic episodes, fever, weakness, dizziness, angioneurotic edema, smarting eyes, hypotension, and anaphylactoid shock. Allergic or idiosyncratic reactions are usually noticed within the period of the first four doses in patients having had no previous contact with the drug. If you experience any of these or any other side effects contact your doctor immediately.

Storage
Store this medication at room temperature between15–30°C (59–86°F). Keep away from children and excess heat, light and moisture (not in the bathroom).

Overdose
If overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately. Some of the symptoms of Soma overdose are- low blood pressure (weakness, fainting, and confusion), decreased breathing, and unconsciousness.

More Information
Be careful when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities. Be careful when taking alcohol during your treatment. It may increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking Soma.
